Miller was named assistant treasurer in 1947, assistant controller in 1953 and corporate controller later that year.
The upcoming SUV will be based on the same underpinnings as the Skoda Kodiaq – a car that scooped our Large SUV of the Year award back in January. Both five and seven-seat versions will be offered and, like the Ateca, will be geared towards agility rather than off-road prowess.
When Chevrolet started offering the 1LE performance package for the V-6 Camaro last year, our initial conclusion was that the company had indeed moved the grip-to-grunt ratio too far to the left. At the 2016 running of our Lightning Lap competition, the junior 1LE shone, smashing the lap record for its class by more than eight seconds. But on the road, it was obvious that the chassis’s ability to produce lateral g-forces wasn’t matched by the engine’s harvest of back-punching longitudinal g’s.
"Century-old automobile giants are racing with each other in new-generation car technologies. So now is the right time for the Turkish automobile," Rifat Hisarciklioglu, chairman of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges, an organization involved in the project, told Hurriyet. "We will work very hard for three or four months to analyze the alternative technologies and funding options."
As you can see, the front-end design of the Asian market Pajero Sport - which will take on the Shogun Sport name in the UK - is similar to the facelifted Outlander SUV. It's Mitsubishi’s new family face, which also appears on its headline act for Geneva 2017 - the Eclipse Cross SUV.
By their nature, CVTs are easy to despise. Their simple design has an elegance to it, but without the stepped, distinct shifts of a conventional transmission, the engine makes a beeline for its torque peak, where it drones on as speed builds. Fortunately, CVTs work better with modern turbocharged engines like the Honda 1.5T that have broad torque curves so that there’s usually adequate grunt on hand even at lower engine speeds. Honda pushes that advantage even further in the Accord’s CVT by building in virtual gear steps that produce a more natural engine note during acceleration.
Neither Alonso nor Toyota would confirm an impending deal. Alonso said at practice for this weekend's Brazilian Grand Prix: "So far, nothing to comment. We will see. Just rumors."

The Shelby GT350 and its R-rated twin were revived by Ford in 2016, almost 50 years after retirement. They immediately transcended Mustang performance and earned a spot on our 10Best Cars list. Changes for 2017 were minimal but meaningful. Most notably, the Track package became standard on the GT350. It includes an aluminum strut-tower brace, a rear spoiler, adaptive dampers, and coolers for the engine oil, transmission, and Torsen differential. The improved cooling addresses overheating issues some GT350 owners had while driving at the racetrack. Ford also rejiggered the options and paint choices. The Technology package from the previous year became the Electronics package on the GT350; it has Sync 3 infotainment, voice-activated navigation, and a nine-speaker Sony stereo. The new Convenience package had all that, too, but swapped the standard Recaro front buckets for leather-trimmed, power-adjustable seats. The paint colors Ruby Red Metallic, Lightning Blue, and Grabber Blue replaced Deep Impact Blue and Competition Orange for 2017.
