“I think it’s been designed really well,” he said. “I always expect a car from SEAT to have a really smart design, and the Arona lives up to those expectations. The LED lights and contrasting roof make it look classy.
"I don't think you can physically do two programs. It would be complicated. Doing Le Mans or Indianapolis or Daytona, why not; it's a one-off. But more than this it is definitely a distraction from his main commitment."
Infiniti has teased that a new SUV – most likely the next-generation QX50 – will be revealed ahead of the Los Angeles Motor Show at a set-piece Infiniti event on 28 November.
This is where things get interesting, because high-end versions of the new SUV are likely to cost you more than £30,000 – dangerous territory for a brand where value has always been a high priority. Bear in mind that the Seat SUV's closes rivals, the Kia Sorento and Hyundai Santa Fe, cost £28,850 and £32,845 respectively.
And the Corvette is on its original 5.7-liter V8 engine, though Blackwell recently had to get the headgasket replaced at around 750,000 miles.
At its first race, Bob and his co-pilot managed 294 laps, securing 5th pace overall and 3rd in their class, which wasn’t bad considering it was the driver’s first outing at Circuit de la Sarthe ever. The X2 will be offered with just three engines at launch – the sDrive20i petrol emits 134g/km of CO2 and is claimed to return up to 51.4mpg, while the 187bhp xDrive20d diesel emits 126g/km and returns 61.4mpg. The higher-powered diesel, the 228bhp xDrive25d, returns 55.4mpg and emits 133g/km of CO2, and is capable of sprinting to 62mph in 6.7sec.
“The driving position appeals to me,” she told us. “A lot of women like to be higher up with a better view of the road, and I don’t need to be too close to the wheel to get that. It’s the feeling of security and being up off the ground that I like.”
Lohscheller said Opel will enter more than 20 new markets by 2022, with Argentina, Saudi Arabia and Taiwan among countries identified as potential export markets. Opel also is exploring whether to sell cars in China and Brazil, he said.
