Oversteer affects the rear wheels, and there are two types of oversteer to contend with. The first happens under braking, where the car's weight transfers towards the front of the car, causing the rear end to become light and lose grip. If you are steering, then the momentum can then bring the back end of the car around like a pendulum. In this instance, you need to steer into the skid, so if the car swings out to the left, you need to steer to the left.
"Somebody stopped by the farm with an old Model T, a junker, and just left it in our yard," Miller told Hemmings Classic Car in 2007. "I gave him 10 dollars and took it all apart to see how it worked."
To save you the math, that's an average of about 43,000 miles per year, or about 117 miles per day, every day, for 18 years. Blackwell logs a lot of highway trips to Georgia and southern Florida for work.
But are these updates enough to keep what is, in effect, an eight-year-old car competitive in an increasingly competitive market?
"Le Mans is agreed," a source close to Toyota told the BBC. "The rest of the season is still being negotiated, but it looks like he will do most of the races."
“WRC” might not be the longest-running racing game series, but it may have the most entries. The lineup started in 2001 with “WRC,” which was followed by “WRC 2,” “WRC 3” and “WRC4” in 2004 before jumping to “WRC: Rally Evolved” in 2005. The series reverted back to “World Rally Championship” and then moved to “WRC: FIA World Rally Championship” in 2010. After the reboot we’ve seen 2, 3, “Powerslide,” 4, 5, 6 and finally “WRC 7,” which went on sale Sept. 15. It was the first to get a Porsche 911 rally car -- a downloadable extra.
Miller, raised on a Nebraska farm and educated at UCLA and later Harvard University, was the last surviving member of the so-called Whiz Kids, a group of ten young men who famously persuaded Henry Ford II to hire them in the late 1940s from the Ivy League school, where they mastered statistical analysis for the U.S. military during World War II.
More engine variants will follow soon after the car's launch, with Seat officials saying that a plug-in hybrid version would "make sense" for some buyers.
