Miller had no interest when the group considered the Illinois Central Railroad, but when the search shifted to Ford, he abandoned plans to return to banking and a pursue a Ph.D. in San Francisco.
Elon Musk promised the upgrade back in August, after responding to a driver’s tweet requesting easier entry and exit in and out of his Tesla.

But don’t go thinking that Jaguar has abandoned what it has always been famous for – namely, creating high-powered, luxurious, rear-wheel-drive saloons. First seen in camouflaged guise going up the hill at this year's Goodwood Festival of Speed, this new (and we use that world very lightly) XJR 575 is the most powerful version of Jaguar’s flagship saloon to date.
With the launch the new Range Rover Velar, the unveiling of the Jaguar E-Pace and the announcement of an innovative new racing series, it’s safe to say that it has been a busy old year for Jaguar Land Rover. Gone are the days when the company was treading water just to stay afloat; JLR is now in fine health, with a series of cutting-edge, electrically assisted models on the horizon.
After three decades of consistent excellence and 20 consecutive years on our 10Best Cars list, the Honda Accord is brand new this year. When something you love changes, it’s natural to be a little nervous: Would we miss that trusty V-6? What if Honda nixed our cherished manual transmission? But we had no cause for fear. The new Accord is once again the best mid-size family sedan on the market. The model lineup is lighter this year, the coupe variant having gone to that Great Showroom in the Sky, and there are three shiny new engines, a trio of satisfying transmissions (yes, the manual is still among them), and a bold exterior design to usher in a new era of greatness for this most established sedan. There’s also a thoroughly updated infotainment system—an elegant and intuitive answer to our plaintive cries—as well as a comprehensive list of standard safety gear. The Accord’s hallmarks remain graceful handling, a spacious interior, and reasonable pricing, and after all these years, it’s still earning our love and admiration.
Workhorse hasn’t yet said much about the HorseFly drone that comes with the N-Gen, but it’s a model that the company engineered in-house. It will deploy from the vehicle and will be software linked, so that it might be able to take a small package to a nearby cul-de-sac, for instance, while a larger one is being delivered. This isn’t the only company vying for the last-mile delivery business and its electric future. One particularly well-funded effort is Chanje, a startup that has managed to recruit former executives from Volkswagen, Tesla, and one earlier fleet-focused company, Smith Electric Vehicles. And a Hybrid Helicopter for Two Workhorse also has a larger, manned aircraft under development. The unique eight-blade SureFly Octocopter, which the company revealed at the Paris Air Show this summer, can hold the pilot plus one other occupant. It’s also an electrified product, but with power sources prioritized the opposite way compared to its trucks; there, a gasoline engine provides power to the electrically driven prop system, and twin battery packs serve as a five-minute power backup, allowing the pilot enough time to land if they run out of fuel or the engine fails.
Miller often resisted the temptation to label himself and his fellow Whiz Kids as just zealous bean counters at a pivotal period in Ford history.
At its first race, Bob and his co-pilot managed 294 laps, securing 5th pace overall and 3rd in their class, which wasn’t bad considering it was the driver’s first outing at Circuit de la Sarthe ever. The car was retired from racing a little over a year and 17 races after Le Mans, before being sold on to the next lucky owner.
ABS is a fantastic aid to driver safety, but only if you know what it does and how to use it in emergencies – which many people don’t. The key benefit of the system is that it allows maximum braking force to be applied, yet the driver can still steer the car to avoid a collision. All you need to do to allow the ABS to work is to push the brake pedal flat to the floor, and the electronics will do the rest. Just remember that the steering will still work.
The Accord’s 192-hp version is at least nominally close to the CR-V unit, with its 10.3:1 compression ratio, direct fuel injection, and VTEC variable valve-timing system. All variants use essentially the same hardware, including the Mitsubishi TD03 single-scroll turbocharger. What varies is the software, boost levels, and, in the case of the Civic Si, a preference for premium fuel.
You can then read the freezing point of the antifreeze using the scale inside the tester. Replace the antifreeze in the car’s system and replace the cap.
